Self paced on your schedule
Lets wrap this up.
Three steps from start to carrying legally.
01
Take the course at your own pace (about 4 hours). You’ll receive your LTC-104 certificate upon completion.
02
Contact me to schedule your handgun proficiency qualification (shooting test). Bring your LTC-104 certificate with you to the range so I can sign off that you passed your shooting test. This shooting test will include at least one hour of instruction. If you are new to guns, and feel a little nervous, more likely two hours at the most.
03
Submit your application through the Texas DPS website. Upload your LTC-104 certificate, driver license and follow fingerprinting instructions. Your license typically arrives within 60 days or less. If you are not ready to carry after getting licensed, that is normal, don’t be afraid to reach out for some real world professional and trusted guidance from a guy that has carried daily most of his life for a living and in my personal life.
The online course I use is a DPS approved online course provider. I have personally taken the course, have vetted and approve it for my students that want an online class due to their busy life. If you want me to teach your class in person, we can arrange for a private in person class to your home, or office. Contact me for a quote through my contact page.
After completion of the online course, you will receive your LTC-104 certificate, which allows you to move forward with your shooting test and later, your application with DPS.
This course does not, for most people get them carrying, please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation to see where I can help. Best to reach out through my contact page.
Added benefits of having an LTC
No classrooms, no waiting. Here’s exactly what the process looks like from sign-up to carrying legally.
Attention: Ages 18 to 20
Texas now allows adults 18 to 20 to obtain a License to Carry. Unlike adults 21 and older who can carry under
constitutional carry, you must have an LTC to legally carry a handgun in public. This course fulfills the classroom
requirement.
You can complete the classroom portion online, but a shooting test is still required.
About 4 hours, self-paced.
Yes, it meets Texas DPS requirements.
Yes. I can help you schedule one or refer you if needed.
Most people finish the LTC course and still don’t feel ready to actually carry. That is completely normal. The course teaches you what the state requires, but it doesn’t prepare you for real life — choosing the right holster, understanding how the law applies to everyday situations, building the muscle memory to carry every day without thinking about it.
That is exactly why I offer coaching. Whether you need a single session to work through specific questions or want hands-on training, I am here for you after the certificate.
