This is the official Texas DPS approved online course needed for the San Antonio classroom portion. LTC-104 Certificate issued after completion.
Still not comfortable carrying after being licensed? That’s where I come in as your personal carry coach.
Many of my students are parents busy at home with kids and want an online option for their license to carry class in San Antonio. Here is a course I have personally taken and vetted as approved for my students. It’s three steps below
01
This DPS approved online course is about four hours long, (some are 6 hours). You can take it anytime, anywhere from your home computer or your cell phone. The lessons are in 15-20 minute lessons. You will be issued your LTC-104 certificate signed off that you passed this course. IF I am not personally available to do your shooting test, the instructor from your online course provides a directory of licensed instructors in San Antonio, TX that are willing to do your test.
02
Remember to bring your LTC-104 certificate to the range, so the instructor can sign off on that you passed your handgun proficiency test. If I am not personally available in San Antonio, TX to do your shooting test. Your instructor from your online course has a directory of instructors in the San Antonio area. The Texas Handgun proficiency test is a 50 round, timed shooting test from distances of 3, 7 and 15 yards. It’s so easy, I guarantee my students will pass on their 1st try, or the retake is on me!
03
Apply through the Texas DPS handgun licensing website. You will complete the handgun license application, upload your LTC-104 certificate that both instructors signed earlier, submit your application, and follow the instructions for fingerprinting. Handgun licensing will charge 40.00 for your five-year license. Once approved, your Texas License to Carry will be mailed to you. The good news is that when you come up for renewal, you don’t have to repeat the training, as long as it has not expired for more than 365 days.
Attention: Ages 18 to 20
Texas adults ages 18–20 who are otherwise eligible may apply for an LTC following a federal court decision in Andrews v. McCraw (2022).

If this is you, don’t worry you are not alone. Many that get the license to carry, still don’t feel comfortable carrying on a daily basis. Why? because the state course is designed to educate you on the laws and make sure you can shoot. The course does NOT prepare you for real-world carry, it does not make most feel comfortable carrying on a daily basis. This is where you need a law enforcement professional to guide you with real-world experience, which I have a lot of, both on the job and as a private citizen.
I will provide you valuable insight how to talk to police in a language they like and understand. Many good intending LTC holders get into legal trouble, learn from their mistakes, here a common one
Coaching is available by phone, Zoom
I provide professional, real-world guidance with topics you are struggling with that keep you from carry on a daily basis, that is what I do best!
I am available statewide and can come to your home or office if you want that in person, more personable hands-on classroom experience. Just reach out through my contact page for a quote.
