I am a licensed Texas LTC handgun instructor #08068467-A 30-year retired law enforcement officer and a personal carry coach when you need me to provide professional, real-world carry from someone that has actually been involved in real world carry use of force incidents both on the job and as a civilian in carry.
During my years in patrol, I regularly encountered License to Carry holders who had done everything right on paper — they had taken the course and received their license — but they still weren’t carrying.
Not because they didn’t believe in it.
Because they weren’t comfortable.
I also saw the other side.
In both patrol and the courtroom, I watched good people make preventable mistakes — often due to a lack of training, guidance, or real-world understanding. Mistakes like improperly displaying a firearm or misreading a situation sometimes led to serious criminal charges.
Most of those situations could have been avoided.
That’s the gap I focus on today.
As a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, I believe in responsible, everyday carry — and there’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone reach a point where they feel prepared, capable, and truly comfortable carrying.
I served over 30 years in law enforcement, including:
I’ve received multiple commendations from two Utah Sheriffs, along with recognition from the Utah Third District Mental Health Court for successfully de-escalating a violent encounter involving a mentally ill individual.
This isn’t theoretical training.
This is experience from the street — and from inside the courtroom.
- Judge Ronald E. Kunz, West Jordan Justice Court
I served as Judge Kunz’s court bailiff and worked closely with him during jury trials. This recommendation reflects that professional relationship.
The system itself isn’t broken — but it is incomplete.
Getting your License to Carry is about meeting state requirements.
It checks the boxes. It gets you licensed.
But for most people, it does not prepare them to actually carry in everyday life.
And that’s where people get stuck.
Most instructors focus on the course.
I focus on what happens after.
I work with people who want more than just a license — they want to feel comfortable carrying, making decisions, and handling real-world situations responsibly.
That includes:
Comfort means:
That’s what I help people build.
Online Course (DPS-Approved)
Complete the required classroom portion online at your own pace.
You’ll receive your LTC-104 certificate after successful completion.
(While I do not teach the online course directly, it is a DPS-approved course I have personally vetted and recommend.)
Handgun Proficiency (DFW Area)
I offer LTC shooting proficiency tests in the Fort Worth / DFW area.
For many students, I recommend additional range time to build real comfort and familiarity.
In-Person Training (Limited Availability)
Private sessions include scenario-based training and real-world application.
Coaching (Phone, Zoom, or In Person)
This is where the real progress happens.
Each session is tailored to your experience level, your concerns, and your real-world goals — helping you build true comfort with everyday carry.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or ready to take the next step after getting licensed, I’m here to help you do this the right way.
